Argegno is one of the most evocative villages on the western shore of Lake Como, halfway between Como city and Bellagio. The Argegno Lido is less than a minute on foot: beach, swimming pool and lakeside restaurant. The public ferry pier — with frequent crossings to Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio — is 200 metres away. The historic Pigra funicular, which climbs to 880 metres in 5 minutes for one of the lake's most spectacular views, is in Piazza Roma a 5-minute walk away. Hiking trails through the chestnut woods start directly from the village. Como city is 30 minutes by car or 50 minutes by scenic ferry.
